Himeji castle

On the way home from Kobe, we stopped in at Himeji Castle. There was a cake convention in the city at the same time. I was so sorry we couldn’t go. The city was very busy. The castle was packed with people. However it is well worth seeing. It is a UN Heritage site and it is one of the most beautiful castles in Japan.  But my favourite is still Matsue castle!

Japanese castles are so different in appearance from European ones. In the summer I will try to take some photographs of Scottish castles and post them here.
